In Memory of

AVVA member Diane Sears passed away on July 23, 2009.

As we all know, she was very active for VVA649 for several years and acting as assistant treasurer to Wayne Gregory.

She was also named Associate Member of the Year for the Ohio State AVVA in 2008.

Diane put together the great Christmas Parties we all enjoyed along with many other events.

Even through her illness, she continued to support the VVA and AVVA.

We will miss such a loyal and deserving member.
She leaves behind her husband Gary Sears who is also a member & delegate for the Chapter, 2 sons, 3 grandchildren,
many relatives and friends.
The service were held at Graceland Memorial Gardens on July 28, 2009.
Gary Sears was presented with the VVA649 Bible at the Memorial Service.

Congratulations to Cliff Riley !

Vietnam Veterans of America National Convention was held on July 27th – August 2nd in Louisville, KY.

The VVA Commendation Medal was awarded to Cliff – This is the Corporations highest award,
and it is awarded for outstanding, exemplary service to veterans and community.

Cliff has been recognized for his sincere commitment to ideals, mission and goals through his work.

We are proud you are a member of our chapter !

Upcoming Events :

The 2nd Annual Southwest Ohio Veterans Bike Show will be held Saturday, August 29th & Sunday August 30th
at the Clermont County Fair Grounds on ST.RT. 132 & U.S. 50 in Owensville, Ohio.

This will be a 2 day event with camping on site with hook up for $30.00 a night.

Food & drink will be available (no coolers allowed).
Admission - $10 per person/$15 for 2 up, ages 12 & under are free.
There will be 7 show classes & the judging will be held Sunday @ 3:00 pm. Proceeds will benefit Homeless & At Risk Veterans, Fisher House, Joseph House for Homeless Veterans, and the Muscular Dystrophy Association.
Sponsors, Volunteers and door prizes are needed for those who wish to participate.

The 4th Annual Golf Scramble :

To be held Sunday September 13th @ the Elks Run Golf Club on 2000 Elklick Road, Batavia, Ohio.

The fee is $75 per person ( 4 person teams – Best Ball Format ) which includes
18 holes of golf with cart, lunch in the Club House and an Attendance Prize Drawing.

Proceeds will benefit Joseph House for Homeless Veterans, Fisher House & Clermont Food Pantry.
